Through the Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework (CRRF) program United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is encouraging governments to allow refugees the ‘right to work’ and ‘freedom of movement’ in order to allow integration of refugee WASH service provision within national structures.
The program links to SDG 6 “Sustainable water and sanitation for all” and encourages governments and development donors to include WASH services for refugees within national development plans, particularly in protracted situations. So that refugees, stateless, and other persons of concern to the High Commissioner for Refugees are ‘not left behind’ as we move towards achievement of the SDGs.
