Hygiene is one of the key aims in WaterAid’s new global strategy (2015-2020) and in its 38 country programmes. WaterAid offers quality Hygiene Behaviour Change (HBC) programmes which bring together global insights from leading academics with practical experience and learning from large scale programmes in the field.
WaterAid embraced behaviour-centred approaches, where they draw from best practice, listen to the communities in which they work and identify the universal behavioural drivers. WaterAid then work with local partners and creative agencies to use innovative, novel and surprising approaches which evoke emotional responses and engender lasting positive heHBC. In addition to working at the community level, WaterAid works closely with district and national government partners to advocate for a policy environment which supports HBC.
